What is a Dermal Filler

Most modern non-permanent fillers are dermal fillers, a naturally occurring substance found in the body. This helps to hydrate and add volume to the skin. As we age the natural replacement of hyaluronic acid is reduced and therefore the moisturising and plumping effects decrease. Both our highly recommended chosen brands  will help instantly improve facial lines, acne scars and other contouring deficiencies.

Non-permament fillers are broken down by the body over a period of time.

Areas of the face can be treated:

  • Frown or glabella lines.
  • Tear trough or tired eyes.
  • Naso-labial folds.
  • Lip augmentation.
  • Cheek augmentation.
  • Upper lip vertical lines (smokers line) .
  • Mouth corners.
  • Marronette lines.
  • Vermillian (lip) border.
  • Chin augmentation.
  • Jowels.

How is it applied

After anaethetising the area with a topical cream, the chosen product is injected just beneath the skins surface to replace the collagen and the hyaluronic acid supports layers which have been reduced. This will instantly smooth away wrinkles, lines, and most scars and will add volume to skin contour deficiencies.

Treatment time is usually between 30-45 mins.

If topical anaesthetic is applied treatment time may be 1 hour.

What Does The Treatment Include

To ensure that each client’s individual needs are met, we take each client through a bespoke consultation with the Doctor/Nurse, which includes an in depth discussion of the areas of concern, the treatment options available and perceived benefits of the treatment.

The area being treated is then anaesthetised with a topical cream for about 10 minutes.

Small volumes of the filler are then injected under the dermis to reduce the depth of the lines being treated.

When completed, the area is often massaged to ensure that the filler is smooth.  A full aftercare information sheet is provided and discussed thoroughly with the Doctor/Nurse.  A review of the treatment can be made after 2 weeks to assess whether further treatment is necessary.

How Does The Treatment Work

Dermal fillers are a gel like substance, this is injected into the area just below the the lines and fat pad loss to provide volume and reduce the visual effects of these lines. On the day of treatment you will see 80% of a visual difference and within the next 2- 4 weeks the product absorbs water providing further volume benefits.
